A rocket is really nothing more than a controlled explosion. The difference between a rocket and a bomb is that the rocket focuses its explosion in one direction. Story Musgrave, Astronaut

A writer arrived at the monastery to write a book about the Master.
”People say you are a genius. Are you”? he asked.
”You might say so”, said the Master, none too modestly.
”And what makes one a genius”?
”The ability to recognize”.
”Recognize what”?
”The butterfly in a caterpillar; the eagle in an egg; the saint in a selfish human being”.

Gifted adults need coaches and mentors who understand what giftedness is, what gifted people need, how they think and feel, the challenges they face, and the solutions that work to help them realize their potential and live fulfilling lives.

Smart, talented, creative people hire a me as their Gifted Adult Coach to help them figure out where they are, where they want to be, and how to get there--as well as how to transform and find solutions to feelings of alienation, isolation, being unrecognized and unappreciated--and underpaid.

True happiness involves the full use of one's power and talents.

My Approach to Coaching Gifted Adults

I've coached gifted, talented and creative adults from all over the world for more than ten years now, promoting personal and professional success and well-being through self-understanding, self exploration and skill building.

Collaborating with smart, talented and creative people to help them recognize and make the most of their unique talents, interests and creative genius--and to acquire the tools, information, understanding, confidence and experience they need to achieve their goals, realize their personal vision, and have a meaningful and productive life--is what my business, personal and creative coaching with multi-talented adults is all about.

Through the specialized coaching process I've developed, gifted and creative adults learn to understand themselves, their needs and challenges as well as how to identify, meet, and exceed their personal, professional, relational and creative goals.

The gifted adults I coach develop more self-confidence, strengthen their voice and vision, get recognized, earn more money, and make the most of their unique intelligence, talents and creative genius.

Gifted, talented and creative adults are a precious resource.  They need to learn about themselves and their specialized needs and requirements—and find ways to fulfill them.  Gifted Adult coaching enables them to do that.

Gifted Adult Coaching Helps Gifted Adults Realize Their Potential & Live Fulfilling Lives

When gifted adults first come to me for coaching they often feel frustrated, stuck, restless or down.   This is usually because they feel they aren't getting what they want, feel they deserve, or they have run into a situation they can't figure out or don't want to go through alone.  This leads them to take the risk of hiring me as their coach.

Encouraging, supporting and guiding gifted, creative and multi-capable adults to understand themselves and their abilities and to have the success and happiness they deserve is the focus of my gifted and creative adult coaching.

The greatest good you can do for another is not just share your riches, but reveal to them their own. Benjamin Disraeli

Through the specialized coaching process I've developed, gifted and creative adults come to appreciate, understand, value and utilize their intelligence, talents, interests, abilities, and creativity in new ways. My Gifted Adult Coaching is specifically designed to facilitate and accelerate this.

As a result, gifted adult clients make rapid progress and very much enjoy having their own individual coach, who can understand and relate to their high standards, goals and unique view--and who can keep up with them and provide guidance, support, and direction.

This is the success formula I use.

Overall, I have concluded that there are large numbers of frustrated gifted adults, who can be located by anyone who knows what to look for, who do not find outlets for their potential. We are not paying enough attention to trying to teach gifted people how to cope with their lives in the adult world.

And I'd Like to Thank My Coach

Bryce Dallas Howard teased her dad, the actor and director Ron Howard, about how much actors are paid, he'd say, "It's so that they can afford their therapist." But decades after her father made it in Hollywood, Ms. Hward, 25, is making her own way in acting, and she's therapist-free. She sees a life coach instead. Ms. Howard, who is on location filming "Spider-Man 3," said her coach helps her navigate the demands of show business on her own terms, including making time for writing and protecting a degree of privacy during press interviews without losing her cool.
"It's not about rehashing the past," said Ms. Howard, "it's, 'Let's talk about this week.' She asks me a series of questions so that I see my priorities and decide what I need to do."  More....

“What I love about coaching is that it’s not therapy. It’s very practical,” says Vivian Nesbit, a Taos actor, writer and radio producer. About a year ago, Nesbit began working with San Francisco creativity coach Eric Maisel. “I came to him with all these plates in the air: three book ideas, a radio show, an acting career, this music thing—I do everything but paint. I was looking for balance. He helped me prioritize.”.....More

Overloaded Circuits: Why Smart People Underperform
Edward M. Hallowell
Modern office life and an increasingly common condition called ‘attention deficit trait’ are turning steady executives into frenzied underachievers...Caused by brain overload, ADT is now epidemic in organisations. The core symptoms are distractibility, inner frenzy and impatience. People with ADT are having difficulty staying organised, setting priorities, and managing time. These symptoms can undermine the work of an otherwise gifted executive.
Unlike ADD, a neurological disorder, that has a genetic component and can be aggravated by environmental and physical factors, ADT springs entirely from the environment. Like the traffic jam, ADT is an artifact of modern life.  It is brought on by the demands on our time and attention that have exploded over the past two decades. As our minds fill with noise – feckless synaptic events signifying nothing – the brain gradually loses it capacity to attend fully and thoroughly to anything.  The symptoms of ADT come upon a person gradually. The sufferer doesn’t experience a single crisis, but rather a series of minor emergencies while he or she tries harder and harder to keep up.  Shouldering a responsibility to ‘stuck it up’ and not complain as the workload increases, executives with ADT do whatever they can to handle a load they simply cannot manage as well as they’d like....More
